HYDROELECTRIC ENERGY
Hydroelectric power is electricity made from the energy of water moving through a wall. A large dam blocks the flow of water from a river. A large body of water forms behind the dam as a lake. Water in the lake flows through the dam and hits the blades of turbines. The pressure of the water turns the turbines. The energy of the turning turbines creates electricity. Tides and ocean waves can turn turbines too!
